Events: Water Hackathon and Casual meet-ups

We are very excited to announce a few Ushahidi events and casual meet-ups in the coming months. There will more details on events, including webinars and design jams soon.

Water Hackathon with Pachube and PubLab

Our friends at Pachube and Public Laboratory (Grassroots Mapping) are partnering with us for a Water Hackathon. This event will be focus on how to connect remote sensoring and mapping, specifically for water quality. The reasons are very compelling: what if we could help people map water quality and have citizens engaged in this process. Don't Flush Me is a local use case. The potential for this type of collaboration is far reaching. We're excited to start braining and hope you will join us. Registration is via the Internet of Things Meet-up group. Casual meet-ups

We love doing casual meet-ups. It provides everyone an opportunity to connect with the local community. Who knows what great ideas might be sparked or questions that can be answered! Atlanta, GA: Thursday, March 16th (A few of us will be in town for the ICT4D conference

New York City, NY: Tuesday, March 20th (The big Internet of Things - Water Hackathon is scheduled for the weekend of March 24-25, 2012. This is a more casual event for deployers, academics, new folks and techies)

Istanbul (Turkey): Monday, April 9, 2012. We're excited to host our first Turkey event in conjunction with a conference visit.
