On 19th Feb 2013, local community working groups convened once more at the iHub to charter next steps in the lead up to the Kenyan general elections.

Local Working group members hard at work

We, (the Ushahidi Team) cannot thank those who attended enough for being a part of Team Uchaguzi. Your presence at the working group session on Tuesday was (and still is) greatly appreciated. To recap, we had four working group sessions. Links to notes from these groups on the wiki provided below

NEXT STEPS

Now the really interesting work begins! As of this post there are 11 days left to the Kenyan general elections on March 4th 2013.  This is your chance to make a difference to your country, shape the course of this project, and influence the execution of citizen-centered election interventions globally. If you have not joined a team yet, please sign up here to join our efforts. Digital response teams will be active from the 2nd to 8th of March 2013.  A series of training and planning sessions will be held, both locally and online for our global volunteers. The first training session was held on the 21st of February at from 5.30p.m to 8p.m. Join us for our other training sessions on the 23rd and 26th. Our plan is to have the Uchaguzi working groups continue simultaneously with the Digital response teams. You are welcome to keep the momentum moving. Some more resources for you to keep reviewing and editing are up on the Uchaguzi Community Wiki pages. Watch this blog, meetup page, Twitter, Facebook, and our wiki for more announcements. Onwards :)!
