Introducing Seth And Chris

Ushahidi
Jul 9, 2013

Big things are happening at Ushahidi, and with that means new faces. Let us introduce you to Ushahidi’s two newest team members, Seth Hall and Chris Albon.

Seth-London-VintageWho is Seth? Seth earned his creative spurs through years of artistic pursuits, but he found his natural home on the web. He is a hero of HTML5, captain of CSS3, master of modular code, guru of Grunt, and well... you get the idea. He considers device agnostic, responsive design essential to building modern web sites and web apps and strives to improve his craft with each build.

Seth joins the Ushahidi team as a front-end designer and developer, turning other people’s napkin drawing into real applications and sites. He loves his work and is thankful to be able to do his part at Ushahidi to make a difference in the world.

When not slaying digital dragons, Seth spends time with his wife Elizabeth and daughter Naomi, ideally with a cup of good coffee in his hand.

You can follow him on Twitter @middle8media and his Adventures in Wi-Fi.

Chris AlbonFor his part, Chris is no lightweight. A former web designer and political scientist, Chris joins the team to lead a new series of initiatives around the use of data during crises.

Chris is no stranger, coming to us from FrontlineSMS where he led their open government work. Before that Chris earned a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of California, Davis researching the impact of civil wars on health care systems.

An avid blogger and Tweeter on using science and technology for social good, Chris writes at ChrisRAlbon.com, UN Dispatch, and Daily Dot. He also occasionally contribute to TheAtlantic.com, ForeignPolicy.com, and other publications. In 2008, he founded Conflict Health, a blog on the defense of health and health workers in armed conflict and political violence.

Welcome Seth and Chris!
