Peace Heroes Use Case

PeaceHeroes.jpg

The Peace Heroes project has provided Ushahidi with valuable feedback in the testing phase, and we are happy to provide a use case summary of how they used the Ushahidi engine. This use case will be useful to organizations considering Ushahidi for aggregating information that is submitted via SMS, web and email, and we hope it contains some insights on how to run a successful campaign.

The use case was written by Melissa Tully. She is a graduate student at the University of Wisconsin pursuing a PhD in mass communication. Her research interests involve communication in and about conflict and post-conflict resolution. She is currently doing research on the use of the Internet and other “new” media technologies in conflict situations, particularly where human rights abuses are occurring.

I had the opportunity to work with Melissa in Kenya, where we met with many of the testers and prospective Ushahidi users in Nairobi. I would like to thank her for writing this use case and for volunteering with Ushahidi.
